Monsters: Fighting the Enemies of Faith
We are in the midst of a series called "Monsters - Fighting the Enemies of Faith".
For today, I would love to tell you that monsters simply do not exist. That there is nothing scary in the world and that those who think there is are probably just paranoid. But I would be lying. The Apostle Paul wrote in
Ephesians 6 that we don't struggle against flesh and blood but against things in this world we cannot
see. In short, monsters are real.
So as the people of God, we should be specially trained to fight in order to stand our ground against the forces that actively seek to destroy us personally, destroy our marriages, destroy our families, destroy our church, and to destroy our society.
Today we'll be dealing with a difficult branch of temptation.
But because of Christ, there is much hope. The thing about being tempted as opposed to being
tested is that God has promised a way of out temptation. He makes no such promise about tests.
1 Corinthians 10:12-13 says "I2 So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't
fall! 13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he
will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also
provide a way out so that you can endure it."
